Trolleybuses out of service with car no. 03



The trolleybus no. 03I of the German type MPE 1 was destroyed by the burning of electric cables in ca. 1943.

The trolleybus no. 03II of the German type KEO 1 (war unit bus standard size 1) is a reconstuction during World War II on a chassis of the German type MPE 1. Originaly the trolleybus was built for Leoben/Austria. On the end of the year 1944 the company Siemens Berlin sent the vehicle outside because destruction by World War II with switching components of the type SSW ONW6 however without electrical engine. The later electrical engine of the type BBC with power of 61 kW was from a destroeyed trolleybus. In 1955 the trolleybus was reconstructed by KAFA Berlin-Schöneweide.

The photo shows the trolleybus no. 03IV of the Czech type ŠKODA 14 Tr03 with the traditional green-white colour of Eberswalde at the Eisenbahnstraße (former Wilhelm-Pieck-Straße) at the bus stop Blumenwerder-Straße going in the direction toward Bahnhof.

The trolleybus no. 03IV of the Czech type ŠKODA 14 Tr03 was sent to the public utility Potsdam on 11 December 1989. The reason given was that this would reduce the working rolling stock in Eberswalde to one uniform vehicle type, nameley the articulated trolleybus of the Hungarian type Ikarus 280.93. In Potsdam the trolleybus had have the car no. 981.

In June 1995 the trolleybus no. 03IV was sent to Ostrava/CZ and had there the car no. 3222.

In April 2001 the trolleybus no. 03IV was sold to Almaty/Kazakhstan. At first the trolleybus had there the car no. 1219, later then the car no. 3053.

The articulated trolleybus no. 03V of the Hungarian type Ikarus 280.93 was from September to December 1989 in Hoyerswerda/GDR. The trolleybus came on 11 December 1989 from Potsdam and had there the car no. 951. On 14 November 1995 the trolleybus was sold further to Timisoara/RO and had there the car no. 18.
