2.1. Trolleybus routes

The trolleybus routes are divided into two lines: 861 (red line signs) and 862 (white line signs).
Together, these two lines total 37.2 km in length and serve five of Eberswalde's quarters; thus they draw ridership from the greater part of the city.
They share a common route for part of their length, particularly in Stadtmitte and Westend. This results in frequent service in those two quarters.
At Boldstraße in Westend there is, for service purposes, a turning loop, which sees no passenger service. It is used for timetable corrections, for returning trolleybuses to the depot, and for putting buses into proper sequence.
